Don’t know about ‘cool’, but as already noted it takes a big cab for the 411 to make powerful bass, at least as big as the A7 cab and preferably larger since at least some of GPA’s more recent re-cones require bigger ones than originally.

Anyway, a large MLTL with a 511/808 and 811/902 stacked on top would make for a 9846 on steroids and could be used for center or side ‘fill’ in a large venue.

    OK, i have these parts
    2 808 8as, 2 511s 2 902 8as 2 811s and the gpa reconed 411 8as.
i looked at a few MLTL cabinets. they all seem tall and skinny. (a couple said GMs design.) but i didn't see any that were remotely in the 15" range. where can i find a set of dimentions to start with?

Yeah, I noticed, so figured they could be put to good use. Marshall and others have posted their Altec MLTLs here. You haven't told me how big you can tolerate though, so haven't designed it yet. The 411 will work in up to 30+ft^3 cabs if vented, but that's a bit much for most folks.

I'd gladly forfeit the sofa and refrigerator/freezer.

OK, these all assume OEM specs, so considering how far off some other recent GPA drivers and re-cones are, only the biggest may be best overall. Considering the cost of such large cabs, measuring the drivers should be done and adjust these numbers if required.

    T/S max flat = ~15.74 ft^3/22.54 Hz Fb
    Classic alignment = ~22.07 ft^3/18.3 Hz Fb
    SET alignment = ~31.79 ft^3/18.03 Hz

How long the cab depends on how high off the floor the horns can be or if folded in half, but this will increase either width and/or depth, i.e. folding the 80? in half while maintaining the 18? x 36? depth will cut the 30 ft^3 down to a little < 15 ft^3.

If the 80? height is maintained, then mounting the horns inside down near the 411 will wreak havoc with its TL pipe action and have no way to sim it, but I?m guessing it will mess up its performance too much. If using shallow cone/dome mids/HF though, it wouldn?t be a problem.

So, which size, layout do you want?
